| Short Profile | HNDT Extractive Metallurgy (UJ) ’82, B.Com (Economics and Quantitative Management) UNISA ’92 and Members of South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and of South African Coal Processing. This fully qualified and accredited metallurgical engineer began his career as plant metallurgist on gold and pyrite flotation plants for three years. He moved into operations management as Plant Production Superintendent in three area these being External operations (surface rock dump reclamation), Strategic Planning then Sulphuric acid production/calcine gold recovery (Lurgi process/Carbon-in-Pulp). That was followed by five years in diamond production as Plant Superintendent Projects and Development and Divisional Plant Superintendent. Upon leaving the industry he represented OEMs providing materials handling and aggregate mineral processing equipment (jaw and gyratory/cone crushers, screens, conveyor systems, mills and rock-breakers.) Here he was responsible for business development/sales by proposing and securing turnkey plant delivery projects. This was a role he was to repeat for a total 22 years for five companies, providing solutions for mineral process plant particularly screens, feeders, classifiers, gravity recovery systems, flotation cells, lime kilns and hydrators amongst others while addressing the after-market in increasingly more senior positions (Sales Director/Commercial Director/Region General Manager). Customer centric sales/business development activities facilitated substantial global exposure through product training, marketing support and commissioning. Since 2017 he has been an independent mineral processing consultant including chief metallurgist on an off-shore EPC contract. |
