| Short Profile | A career that began in 1980, as a student/junior QS with Basil Read, provides many powerful credentials well beyond his Dipl. QS Pret. Tech., PPM Univ. Pret. and ECCCS, ECCA & ECCDA (Society of Construction Claims Specialists International). He rose through the ranks of the industry to become a very successful Commercial Manager, where he would typically manage the QS and Tender Departments, along with being responsible for business development and contracts management. He has taken that responsibility for several large civil works and building construction companies, and in the later years he has also worked in the SMPP sector, completing several large process plants throughout Africa. In addition to acquiring extensive knowledge and understanding of the construction industry, he has demonstrated a strong commercial awareness, excellent client liaison skills, team leadership and project management capabilities - and a talent for negotiation. As a self-employed consultant he intends to use his decades of pertinent experience and particular expertise on FIDIC contracts to provide high-value-adding professional services. |
