INDUSTRY SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS

An HND (Electrical Engineering) from Vaal University of Technology, acquired in '85 by a technician employed by Eskom, then still a world-class power utility, provided the only tertiary education and qualification needed for this highly talented individual to begin a meteoric rise through the ranks. Before beginning his own consultancy providing a Capital Advisory Service in 2016, he had risen to the EXCO of Group Five, which is at the forefront of the engineering construction business in South Africa. He served on the Boards of the cluster of companies under his leadership, which together enjoyed an annual turnover of approximately R12bil and employed up to 10 000 direct employees. Along the way he had received further education in Global Marketing and Growth from the GE (Corporate) University in New York, and completed an Executive Development Program at the prestigious Harvard Business School. He was accredited Pr. Eng. (ECSA), is a Member South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (MSAIEE) and of the Institute of Directors (IOD). For twenty solid years he was in electrical engineering in the power utilities industry - while at Eskom, in the employ of OEM's GEC Alstom and Reyrolle /ABB, and even during his first years in the EPC business. As senior executive responsible for marketing and business management his experience then broadened to include the EPCM domain, with clients in infrastructure, oil & gas and in mining & minerals processing. A strong leader-manager, he prides himself on success in business growth and on his expertise in strategy formulation.
